J&J is now willing to pay $8.9 billion to settle all lawsuits.

The funders’ involvement is publicly available due to a New Jersey court rule requiring the release of certain details about funders outside the state. The rules aim to address the growing calls for regulation of litigation funders. J&J has to deal with more than 60,000 lawsuits when you combine state and federal baby powder lawsuits.
