The hyperbole wasn’t spared: victims’ lawyers call it the most significant “fraudulent transaction in United States history.”
Notwithstanding the legal mumbo jumbo, J&J does not really believe that this bankruptcy will last. But it is a way of trying to push this $8.9 billion settlement, and to keep pressure on plaintiffs.
