Attorneys representing cancer victims who do not agree with the agreement counter the agreement with what is countering legal nonsense with legal absurdity: J&J fraudulently transferred $50 billion of assets from LTL Management to circumvent the appeals court’s earlier ruling. Hyperbole did not go unnoticed the lawyers representing victims call it the largest “fraudulent transfer of assets in United States history.”
Notwithstanding the legal mumbo jumbo, J&J does not really believe that this bankruptcy will last. It is however a method of trying to push this $8.9 billion settlement to keep pressure on plaintiffs.
