J&J company subsidiary LTL Management filed a bankruptcy plan in New Jersey late on Monday that details how the company intends to pay different types of cancer sufferers in an arrangement for bankruptcy. April 13, 2023 Update: The biggest announcement is an $8.9 billion over 25 years settlement offer. Attorneys representing cancer victims who oppose the deal counter this with what you conclude is countering legal nonsense with legal nonsense: J&J fraudulently transferred $50 billion of assets away from LTL Management to circumvent the appeals court’s previous decision. The hyperbole wasn’t spared: victims’ lawyers call it the biggest “fraudulent deal in United States history.”

Despite all the legal jargon, J&J does not really think this bankruptcy will survive. But it’s a way to try and push the $8.9 billion settlement through and maintain pressure on plaintiffs.
